Why do we budget?

Why do WE budget? Yes, we budget to survive and to not go into debt during this recession. But also, my husband and I budget because we love to give to causes we believe in. We're cheap on some stuff, so we have the money to give for such a time like this. Most of us have heard about the devastation happening in Haiti after the earthquake on 01/12/10.  Here are a couple organizations that are doing good work in response to the crisis in Haiti. They were also working in Haiti before the earthquakes happened, so they have a commitment to the country and have a foundation of resources on ground. If this website has helped you save money, please think about giving some of that to those in need (whether it be to Haiti or to the many other struggles/needs in the world today).

World Vision: Provides long-term community development and currently providing emergency crisis relief.

Habitat for Humanity: Works towards rebuilding and reconstruction...very necessary things for the weeks, months, and years to come in Haiti.
